Repeatedly delayed, BlackBerry finally launched their newest device, called the BlackBerry Z10. Using the latest BlackBerry 10 operating system, this product looks much different from other BlackBerry products. Promising a new and different experience, how far is the smartphone sophistication that fans have been waiting for? In terms of design, the Z10 is reminiscent of its rival smartphones, the iPhone 5 and HTC One. The Z10 comes with a solid body and materials, precise molding as is usually seen in previous premium class BlackBerry products.
However, it appears with a box body with rounded corners that is different than the previous BlackBerry touch screen phone. And this time, BlackBerry doesn’t equip the Z10 with virtual or physical buttons other than the power and volume buttons. Only the BlackBerry logo can be found below the screen, the location usually occupied by the three main menu buttons. The lack of a menu button is a little inconvenient at first and takes some getting used to. The use of matte plastic material on the front and rubber-coated plastic on the back not only makes the Z10 look elegant, but also comfortable in the hand. Not carrying a unibody design, you can find microSIM and microSD slots behind the rear chassis.

The home screen that is presented by the Z10 is like an Android OS treat. The Z10 relies on swipe gestures as a way of navigation.
In the locked screen position, swipe your finger from the bottom up to the top of the screen to open and go to the Home page. Like the iPhone, the entire default BlackBerry menu is presented on the Home screen, so users won’t find the menu page. Swiping from left to right on the Home screen will bring up an area that acts as a shortcut to the BlackBerry Hub, text message inbox, BBM, email, Facebook, Twitter, or phone calls. However, the Running Apps screen will be tucked between the Home screen and the shortcut area when an application is being accessed. Swiping the screen from the bottom up on the application window will minimize the accessed application window, and to close it, press the X mark in the right corner of the small application window on the Running Apps screen.
Meanwhile, in its superior features, BlackBerry presents several changes to BBM v.10 which is found on the Z10. The most striking difference is the contact layout that can be selected in list or grid mode. The most interesting thing about BlackBerry 10 is that to be able to use all the features on the Z10, such as BBM, social media, internet, and video streaming, users only need to activate the internet package. In addition, users can enjoy BlackBerry’s latest superior feature, namely Screenshare, which allows the person you contact to see everything that is on your BlackBerry screen. Using the Z10 is even more fun without the presence of lag, whether watching videos or just switching from one application to another. The provision of an 8 MP camera may not be anything special in the midst of an onslaught of cellphones with large resolution cameras. Even though the photos tend to be not sharp with quite high noise even in sufficient lighting conditions, this does not reduce the fun of using this smartphone thanks to the presence of the Time Shift feature. This feature allows you to take up to eleven photos in a burst which are then selected and combined to get the desired photo results. For battery matters, the Z10 was able to last 317 minutes in tests that involved intensive video playback with screen brightness and volume at 100%, as well as pulling news feeds via Twitter, Facebook and email.
