The reason the WhatsApp application cannot be opened or an error message problem appears may be due to the large number of caches that have not been cleared.

1. Restart Your Smartphone

When you have tried the solutions “WhatsApp can’t be opened” but still the same, you guys can easily consider factory resetting your phone.

That means you’ll go back to emptying your phone the way you bought it, for example in resetting settings that can be opened in the WhatsApp app.

Before that, make sure you have backed up your important data, OK? Please use the cloud storage service to easily recover later by simply downloading it.

The first simple thing you can do is restart your smartphone. Even though it’s fairly trivial, sometimes this method can solve WhatsApp error problems. However, in this case it is still uncertain. If the problem persists, try the next method.

Too many types of applications already running in the background can also cause crashes that cause errors. In the WhatsApp application you may be one “victim”. To solve this, you have to turn off your phone first.

Just wait with some time and restart the smartphone. Restarting the cellphone can be a solution to overcome WhatsApp won’t open, although it doesn’t always work.

2. Use VPN After Uninstall

If you have a problem that doesn’t only occur with WhatsApp, the cause may lie in the service provider’s network or server. Please try to switch your internet connection to cellular data or a connection on another WIFI.

If necessary, please use a VPN to test a smoother network with foreign IPs. You can download VPN applications that are available for free on the App Store.

Another problem is that if WhatsApp is now removed by the government, all WhatsApp users in Indonesia will be confused because after all WhatsApp is very, very important in being used as a communication medium.

The solution is to use a VPN application to move networks or IPs abroad according to the server we choose.

This can be from the UK, Singapore, the Netherlands, India, America, or any other country depending on the options available. There are many VPN applications for free.

And paid, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. One of our recommendations, you can use an application called NordVPN.

3. Check Network Connection

Next, try to determine if your Internet network is working properly for all online activities. Try opening YouTube, Google Chrome, Google Play Store, or something else.

If it’s running smoothly, it’s most likely only WhatsApp that’s having issues, but if it’s the other way around, you should also check your data plan, provider, and so on.

If a bad connection occurs, try turning Internet data off and on again. Or use Airplane mode if needed.

4. Delete WhatsApp Cache Files

Next, you can easily try clearing the cache of the WhatsApp application. You should know that cache files can speed up the loading time of certain applications on operating systems on Windows or Android.

However, when too many cache and history files accumulate in internal memory, Android can feel heavy and application errors occur.

  • Please open the menu Settings » Apps & notifications » Apps.
  • Find and select the WhatsApp application.
  • Whatsapp app info shows specific storage.
  • Tap Clear Cache to clear WhatsApp cache, and you’re done.

Like factory reset, wiping WhatsApp data means erasing all content such as login history, images and documents in chat history.

Like deleting data, reinstalling the app also results in loss of WhatsApp content. However, if you enable the regular backup settings.

Existing data can be recovered after WhatsApp is successfully accessed. This way you can fix WhatsApp won’t open by going to Settings > Applications > WhatsApp > Uninstall.

After the deletion that you have done is successful, turn off your cellphone and turn it on again before installing the WhatsApp application again.

6. Try Clearing WhatsApp Data

In some cases, stopping and clearing app data will reset the app to default settings. This means all WhatsApp temporary files will be lost permanently.

For example settings, database, history, login details, cache, and so on. To log back in later, you can re-enter your phone number.

  • Please open the Settings menu » Apps & notifications » Applications.
