Rohil (at first glance) – The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bangko Police, Rokan Hilir (Rohil) Police managed to secure hundreds of pieces of unmanaged processed materials that were allegedly the result of criminal acts of illegal logging.

Hundreds of pieces of the board-shaped material were found by the Bangko Police Criminal Investigation Unit at Jalan Simpang Congal trench 2, Kepenghuluan Labuhan Tangga Baru, Bangko District, Rohil Regency on Tuesday 23 May 2023 at around 16.20 WIB.

Bangko Police Chief Kompol Dedi Susanto SH, when confirmed through the Head of Public Relations of the Police Bripka Puji Anton, Wednesday (24/5/2023), stated that the disclosure of the crime of illegal logging was based on an information report received on May 23, 2023.

Puji Anton explained that the discovery of hundreds of pieces of processing materials began on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at around 15.30 WIB based on information from the public that there was illegal logging activity.

Then he continued, at around 16.20 WIT the Bangko Police Criminal Investigation Unit team led by the Bangko Police Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Irwandy H. Turnip, SH, MH conducted an investigation and left for the TKP which is located at Jalan Simpang Congal Parit 2 RT Kepenghuluan Labuhan Tangga Baru, Bangko District to be precise under a bridge.

“On arrival at the location, the team found 4 assemblies of mixed type plank processed wood and 80 pieces on the side of the road,” explained Puji Anton.

With these findings, said Puji, the team then conducted an investigation in the form of interrogation of witnesses around the TKP. However, the witnesses who were around did not know who owned the wood.

With these findings, the Head of the Bangko Police, Kompol Dedi Susanto, SH, then ordered the Criminal Investigation Unit and Operations Unit of the Bangko Police to secure the processed wood.

“The processed wood was secured as many as 120 pieces or approximately 3 tons and then brought to the Bangko police station for further investigation,” he concluded. (Sagala).
